Dmitry Egupov's 2018 painting is a splendid example of an impressionistic approach to depicting architecture. At the center of the composition is an ancient church with a distinctive dome and elegant facade that seems to absorb the sunlight playing across its surface. Egupov masterfully conveys the texture and warmth of the Mediterranean landscape through soft brushstrokes and muted tones. The pastel colors of the sky and buildings create a sense of calm and timelessness, as if time has stopped. The artist uses light and shadow to emphasize depth and volume, focusing on architectural details. This work captivates not only with its painterly technique but also with the emotional richness it evokes in the viewer, reminiscent of the serenity and beauty of historic sites.
